1st Line IT Support/Helpdesk

This leading provider of IT support and cloud solutions are seeking to recruit a talented and enthusiastic individual to join their growing team providing end-user technical support via email, telephone, remote desktop and on-site.

This is a role for a highly driven, self-motivated engineer to work focusing on customer service with excellent communication skills as well as a strong technical troubleshooting ability. You will have desktop support experience working within a corporate or education environment including a minimum of 2 years' experience supporting Windows Operating systems.

You will also have experience of Active Directory, MS Outlook clients and MS Office 2010/2013/2016, basic networking. You will have at least basic knowledge of server software\applications (Symantec Endpoint Security, Windows server OS, Routers)

Main roles:

- Working both under own initiative and as part of a small team to troubleshoot IT issues through their helpdesk system and directly with customers
- Providing direct support to end users across a variety of platforms
- Working at customer sites as required
- Proactive server and desktop monitoring
- Maintaining internal support documentation
- Daily network monitoring
- Daily backup monitoring
- Server support and maintenance task management
- Server OS and hardware installation
- Hardware maintenance tasks
- Provide out of hours support where required

Key requirements/ skills/experience:

- 2 years' IT support experience
- Excellent communication skills (both internally and with clients)
o Verbal
o Written
- Fluent in English
- Ability to prioritise support issues
- Windows 7 / 8 / 10
- Knowledge of Active Directory
- Understanding of DNS/DHCP
- Understanding of IT routers/switches etc…
- Understanding of IT security (firewalls, antivirus etc.)
- Understanding of networking and TCP/IP
- Smartphone configuration experience (Apple/Blackberry/Android etc.)
- Hunger to learn and develop, with a "can do" attitude

Desirable but not essential:

- Relevant IT qualification
- Hypervisors
o VMware
o Hyper-V
- Windows Server 2008R2 / 2012R2
- Microsoft Exchange 2010 / 2013
- SharePoint 2013
- Draytek Routers / Firewalls & VPN
- Office 365 & Google
- Understanding of web hosting & domain registration
