Litigation Secretary

Salary c £19-22k dependent on experience

Full time – Monday to Friday 9.00 -5.30 pm daily

Leeds LS1 - must live within 30 minutes travel time

Our client a Leeds City Centre law firm seeks an experienced secretary to join their legal practice.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced litigation secretary to join the existing team.  The ideal candidate should be well organised, have strong communication skills, both face to face and over the telephone and be able to cope within a fast paced and often stressful environment.

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Travel and accommodation
  • Copy typing
  • General secretarial duties
  • Filing, faxing, copying
  • Organising, co-ordinating and maintaining diaries
  • Making and arranging appointments
  • Handling telephone calls, enquiries and requests and dealing with them as appropriate
  • Audio typing
  • Dealing with incoming emails, faxes and post and often corresponding as appropriate
  • dealing directly with clients

The Person

  • Previous experience of working within a similar position
  • Strong IT, typing and audio skills
  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Must live within 30 minutes of the office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate organisational and planning skills
  • Working to tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Work well as part of a team and also on own initiative
  • Cope well under pressure
  • Methodical and able to prioritise own workload
  • Ability to be discrete and maintain high levels of confidentiality
