Our Penylan House Nursing Home offers the highest standards in accommodation and person-centred care, exemplary direct nursing care and a secure, relaxed and homely environment where our elders and their families feel that their well-being and comfort is of prime importance.

We are looking to recruit a Food Service Assistant to assist the Chef Manager in preparing meals for elders; ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout the kitchen and dining areas.

Specific duties will include:

• Assisting in the preparation of the dining areas prior to the service of meals.
• Setting up and cleaning tables, washing up and serving meals.

   

You will enjoy working in a team and have a positive attitude to supporting your colleagues and the elders. You will also take pride in cleanliness and organisation on shift, understanding that Health and Safety and Food Safety are essential in the workplace. You must also be passionate about food and customer service, ideally have worked in a similar role and be prepared to work some weekends.

You will be working 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis which includes the following shift patterns, 7am – 3pm, 11am – 7pm and 12pm – 8pm.

In keeping with its close association with the Jewish Community, Penylan House has facilities to recognise the religion of its Jewish residents and has a kosher kitchen. Linc staff take part in Jewish Culture workshops to understand and respect the culture and traditions. With the opening of the new phase of Penylan House, its services will be extended for the wider community and people from all faiths.
