The Department of IT Services has recently restructured its operation to align to a lifecycle-based approach to service delivery comprising Service Planning & Governance, Service Design & Delivery, and Service Operation & Support. It is adopting a service culture based on ITIL best practice and has embarked on an ambitious and exciting portfolio of technology-enabled projects to support the University's 2020 Strategy.
About the role
This is a fixed term, part time role in the IT Service Department. You will assist the programme manager with management, coordination and supporting the IT Services project portfolio. The projects aim to improve the offering of systems and processes which will enable the University to make the best use of its technology and people.
This role's responsibilities include the support of projects by assisting stakeholders, customers and suppliers with all aspects of project management from project initiation through to closing a project and lessons learned. You will work with senior managers and others who coordinate projects to help other to understand the adopted standardised approach to project management and supporting documentation managed by the team.
About you
With Project Management qualifications, or equivalent relevant experience, you will be a customer focussed and credible Project Manager with strong organisation and communication skills.
You will have demonstrable experience of complete project lifecycle management while, delivering to the identified time, cost and quality requirements.
You will be able to manage multiple projects whilst maintaining a keen eye for detail and ensuring all project related documentation is maintained to a high standard and accessible to end users. With excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills, you will enable project teams to work together effectively to achieve optimum results.
