Bisham Abbey is one of Sport England`s National Sports Centres and is home to a number of National Governing Bodies of Sport. Bisham Abbey provides excellent facilities to Britain`s leading sports men and women, and aims to provide a world class experience where everything we do ensures that our customers are valued and their satisfaction and recommendation to others is paramount.

Bisham Abbey is also a Conferencing and Event Centre, boasting a large number of recently refurbished rooms and outdoor spaces for weddings, corporate events and team-building days. It is located close to London and major transport links, and sits on the borders of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire in stunning grounds on the banks of the River Thames.

We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to work 39 hours per week, Monday - Sunday, hours worked will be dependent on the needs of the business.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the day to day performance of the contract and meeting the specifications and expectations of the Client/Organisation and the Company. You will also provide vision and leadership to ensure the aims and objectives of the Client/Organisation and Serco are met.

Main Duties and Responsibilities;
* Provide strong leadership and staff management of the Operations team.
* Act as lead and responsible person for H&S management at the site, supporting other heads of service.
* Prepare and present the relevant sections of the Monthly Performance Management report to Sport England.
* Co-ordinate and ensure reactive maintenance is undertaken in line with rectification periods within the contract.
* Ensure that the facilities are maintained appropriately to deliver the sporting needs of the NGBs and elite athletes on site as necessary.
* Support the Deputy Contract Manager to maintain Quest (UK Quality Scheme for Sport and Leisure) and other recognised management system standards, e.g. Hospitality Assured, as necessary.
* Ensure the customer feedback system is effectively managed.
* Ensure a continuous and professional approach to staff training and development, implementing and delivering a comprehensive training programme across all areas of service delivery.

Essential / Desirable Skills for the role;
* Hold a qualification applicable to general business or leisure industry operations is essential.
* Proven experience in Operations management or a similar position with responsibility for operational service delivery is essential.
* Hold a First Aid at Work Qualification including Defibrillator is essential.
* Hold a suitable H&S qualification with NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent is desirable.
* Experience of data analysis and management reporting.
* Experience of budget and financial process management.
* Excellent communication and customer care skills.
* Excellent organisational and motivational skills.
