My client is currently looking for an Enterprise Architect to join their growing IT team.
The successful candidate:
- Will ensure that the IT strategic direction supports the business plans of the business units by developing an appropriate system architecture and roadmap for its execution.
- Own the architecture design process, ensuring it is effective and efficient.
- Identify risks within the system architecture and propose appropriate mitigation.
- Identify new and evolving technologies, include them in the systems architecture where they can lead to commercial advantage and act as an evangelist for their take-up within IT developments.
- Communicate the systems architecture plan and the benefits that it will provide to the business units.
- Monitor systems development activity and ensure that all developments comply with established IT policies, including that they conform to preferred technical approaches
- Establish fit of projects within the overall architecture, their benefits and the estimated costs and timescales.
- Exercise appropriate judgement in system selection between in-house development and packaged software solutions
- Chair the Architecture Review Board in order to ensure all architects are aware of, and contribute to, the system architecture roadmap.

- Senior level stakeholder management
- Experience of requirement and benefits capture, as well as analysis
- Influencing skills both within and outside the architecture organisation
- Systems architecture creation techniques, within the wide range of available technologies
- Experience of driving through programmes that reconcile and meet complex demands
- Ideally previous experience of developing IT strategy, influencing decisions on expenditure of large sums of money (up to GBPmillions) and the realisation of major profit earning projects
