We are looking for a mid-level legal counsel to support the growing international ticketing and payments businesses across Europe - must be fluent in English and German.

Overall purpose of role
*Counsel the business across Europe (with particular focus on UK and DE) on all areas of the business including general legal compliance, commercial and regulatory (especially ticketing laws).
*Support Client's licensed payment services entity in Luxembourg and work closely with the Compliance Officer on regulatory and payments law matters.
*Work closely with Group's functions (including government relations and litigation) to strategically influence the European ticketing landscape.
*To provide commercially focused, multi-jurisdictional and pragmatic legal advice and navigate the complex regulatory ticketing environment.

Primary responsibilities include
*Carrying out product reviews of and providing legal advice for site content and functionality on Client's web/mobile sites/apps;
*Legal ownership of user agreements and policies.
*Providing legal advice on marketing and advertising campaigns.
*Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements (in particular sponsorship/partnership agreements with local and international rights holders).
*Working closely with the customer support organisation on escalated user complaints.
*Supporting Client's licensed payment entity in Luxembourg and working closely with the Compliance Officer on regulatory and payments law issues.
*Guiding the business on internal processes and providing regular training on legal issues.
*Driving efficiencies in internal legal processes such as contract process, knowledge management and other legal resources.
*Proactively identifying and advising on potential regulatory and supervisory issues and engaging with regulatory bodies.
*Liaising with other members of the global Client legal teams.
*Managing outside counsel portfolio and related budget.

Job Requirements and personal characteristics
*Fully-qualified German or UK lawyer with 3-5 years relevant experience within a law firm or E-commerce/technology/media company.
*Excellent academics and legal training.
*Solid experience in commercial contracts and regulatory/product advice.
*Knowledge and experience in consumer and EU payments and anti-money laundering laws advantageous (but not mandatory).
*Strong negotiation skills. Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies an advantage.
*Ability to progress matters subject to the laws of a different jurisdiction to that in which the candidate is qualified, using outside counsel where appropriate.
*Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to act quickly, independently and decisively. Ability to make reasoned judgements in view of legal and business environment.
*Commercial outlook and a strategic and creative thinker with self-confidence, 'can do' attitude and sound judgment.
*Team player with great interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour who thrives in a collegiate atmosphere.
*Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and to travel to other Client offices in EMEA and the US.
*Strong interest in Client and a user of its products.
*Business fluency in English and German language, additional language skills an advantage, in particular French and/or Spanish.
