They are currently recruiting for a Database Administration Manager to join their IT team in Chippenham.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure security requirements are adhered to and respond to audits as required.
• Manage staff assuring best practices, staff effectiveness with standards, maintain primary and backup Lead the DBA Teams in the UK and India to provide effective ERP and DBA support across the international sites.
• Maintains database inventories tied to hardware and ensures that costs are understood and part of the decision making process.
• Facilitates migrations to newer releases with the development teams.
• Supports and influences decisions regarding database selection with the supporting virtual or physical infrastructure.
• Ensures that the infrastructure is built-out for High Availability, Recoverability, DR, and Performance.
• Ensures integration of enterprise application and database performance, monitoring and altering management systems.
• Ensures backup/recovery procedures, enable developer access to backup data for development testing and that offsite Evault is available for recovery.
• Refresh test databases from live as required
• Upgrade ERP system and apply patches as required
• Provide Support for the development teams in UK, India and HK
• Provide technical/user Support for global ERP systems with thousands of users in different time zones
• Manage an On-call rota (every 4 weeks) to support all environments in the global HM International division

Must have / must be:

• Ideally, 6 Years Minimum of 2005, 2008, 2012 with experience of 2014/2016
• Experience of Leading a small team
• Good working knowledge of SSRS, SSIS, SSMS
• Good working knowledge of SQL Security
• Experience as a DBA in projects involving complex bespoke data processing, ETL and data warehousing requirements
• Service delivery experience in an IT managed services organisation is preferred
• Methodical approach to problem solving combined with a very good attention to detail
• Proactive with a willingness to own and resolve issues
• A team player with the ability to work on their own
• Able to communicate effectively with internal customers (IT and users) and third party vendors
• Able to work to tight deadlines
• Able to suggest improvements to processes and see them through if adopted

Desirable:

• Experience of Infor SyteLine ERP system *** This is highly desirable if not mandatory
• Visual Studio
• SpotLight on SQL Server, Sharepoint, Red-Gate
• SQL Profiler
• SQL Tuning skills
• Experience of database replication, mirroring or log shipping
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems: 2003, 2008, 2012
• Knowledge of VM and SAN

Experience:

• Microsoft certified DBA or at least 6 years' experience in a busy commercial environment
