Legal Counsel - Litigation

Summary

Towergate require an experienced Legal Counsel with a track record of dealing with professional indemnity claims against insurance brokers and other professionals, including liaising with and reporting to insurers and advising on insurance coverage

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely advice to stakeholders on professional indemnity claims
• Assist with development of internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance
• Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
• Communicate and negotiate with external parties (external counsel, clients and insurers)
• Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility

Mandatory Requirements - must be documented on CV

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with minimum of 5 years PQE gained in city insurance firm
• In depth knowledge of professional indemnity claims

The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate the ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies as well as exhibiting a high degree of professional ethics and integrity. You will have sound judgment and the ability to analyse situations and information coupled with outstanding communication skills. You will be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
