About Us:

We are industry leading providers of Cloud Hosting, Colocation and Managed Hosting services to over 3000 happy customers across the UK.

The DC 1st Level Support Engineer:

Responsible for 1st level data centre support to external and internal customers, assisting them with server, application, desktop, networking and hardware problems and standard change requests via phone, email and fax.

+ This role involves Monday to Sunday shift work, out of hours and on call duties.
+ This role may require occasional customer and company site visits.

DC Support Engineer Required Skills & Experience:

Essential:

+ Minimum GCSE level, or equivalent, in English.
+ Experience working as a Data Centre Support Engineer, or in a similar role
+ Experience providing high levels of customer service in an IT or similar industry
+ Computer hardware troubleshooting experience
+ Enthusiasm and interest in Data Centres and Hardware
+ An enthusiastic, driven, committed and flexible approach to work
+ Solutions driven, confident and friendly approach in dealing with customers
+ Excellent standard of written and spoken English
+ High degree of commercial acumen, accuracy and attention to detail
+ A good memory of how software and operating systems work
+ Good problem solving skills
+ Keen interest in, and passionate about IT technology and infrastructure
+ Good knowledge and understanding of Hardware, builds / swap outs, desktops, servers, data and power cabling, rack systems & cabling
+ Understanding of basic networking concepts

Desirable:

+ CompTIA Server+ certification.
+ CompTIA A+ certification.
+ MCITP certification.
+ HND/BTEC or equivalent in IT, Computer Science or similar discipline with specific education on hardware and/or cabling modules.
+ Full UK Driving Licence. 
+ ITIL Foundation Certification or working towards.
+ Technical phone support experience.
+ A basic understanding of building management systems.
