Here at Advanced Supply Chain we have an opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team based in Bolton, on a full time permanent basis. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary.

As our Health & Safety Advisor you will implement H&S best practice in your nominated areas, ensuring the Company complies with current H&S legislation, approved codes of practise and guidance. To work proactively with managers to establish and maintain safe systems of work and a safe environment for colleagues and visitors across the group.
Our Health & Safety Advisor duties and key responsibilities include:
- Deliver a professional Health & Safety advisory and administration service to site Management
- Ensure the site/area of responsibility complies with HR & H&S best practice and statutory compliance as a minimum
- Manage the administrative requirements of all relevant accident reports
- Contribute to ad hoc H&S projects
- To monitor, evaluate and review H&S Policy and Practice
- Provide consultative support to employees with the objective of minimising business H&S risk
- Completing inspections and audits, in line with the audit plan
- Provide administration support for the site H&S Committee
- Conduct risk assessments, work with managers and employees to ensure they are prepared and reviewed as necessary
- To investigate, or where appropriate, assist others in accident investigation and reporting on, incidents, damages, dangerous occurrences and significant near misses
The successful Health & Safety Advisor must have the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Driven to deliver
- Organised, methodical and disciplined
- Able to maintain accuracy whilst working in a busy environment
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Excellent administration skills
- Ability to identify root causes and resource permanent solutions
- Practical knowledge of Risk Assessments
- Practical knowledge of Warehouse Operation or FMCG environment
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- An interest in Health & Safety
- IOSH/NEBOSH certification (or equivalent) would be desirable
