Job Description – Key responsibilities
The Financial Reporting Analyst will perform, with little guidance, tasks and processes to enable an effective and efficient financial reporting service relating to the appropriate business division, providing financial results for all metrics, supporting analysis and commentary on a timely basis and to the appropriate level of quality. Provide regular and reliable updates to management to enable the team to disseminate financial information in an effective and informative manner, ensuring its presentation and analysis meet the wide background and experience of the customer base.They will undertake the following:
- results and delivery management;
- perform tasks and processes, under guidance, to support and enable the delivery of timely financial reporting results, for the appropriate business divisions, for all metrics (including but not limited to IFRS, EV, EC, Peak 1/2 and ICA bases of reporting), meeting required internal and external standards;
- support the analytical and investigative work carried out by the team;
- compliance with all internal and external standards and best practice;
- customer Relationship and Information Management;
- identify, establish and maintain close working relationships with other teams and customers involved in the reporting process to ensure that results are delivered in a smooth, controlled and efficient manner, responding calmly and with pragmatism to unforeseen events.
Required Skills & Experience
This role requires the ability to work on highly complex regulatory issues. The right candidate will be able to draw on a solid foundation of privacy and regulatory expertise and industry knowledge, augmented by the ability to rapidly adapt to different cultures and engage effectively with governments and policymakers.
Specifically the successful candidate will have the following skills/experience and attributes:
- a related degree at 2:1 level (Mathematical based);
- good level of written and verbal communications including presentations;
- ability to work to tight deadlines;
- effective Priority Management and management of conflicting requirements;
- flexible approach to work requirements;
- personable, approachable;
- ability to work without guidance and ability to use initiative as required;
- technical knowledge;
- jobholder will be at analyst level and will have some knowledge of the following:
- Reporting metrics: EV, IFRS, Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 Economic Capital
- The UK Life Industry
- Risk and regulatory requirements;
- the jobholder will be a part-qualified actuarial student in the final stages of gaining the professional qualification.
