Our client, a well-established M&E Contractors, located in Northampton are seeking to recruit an Experienced Electrical Estimator to start immediately!
Salary: £50K Per annum & Car Allowance
Location: Northampton
Role Insight:
The key purpose of this role is to breakdown client enquiries and to prepare detailed electrical estimates, tenders and quotations to ensure that opportunities are being accurately, competitively, successfully and profitably estimated
Key activities:
·Responsible for preparing accurate prime cost take off and allowances for tenders allocated.
·Sourcing and providing costings for input into tender documentation to achieve cost effectiveness across all quotations
·Reviews quotations received from Sub contractors and suppliers, checks compliance and makes correct allowance in accordance with Tender Documentation
·Assesses and allocates direct costs, for plant and equipment required, Contracts management such as supervision, site establishment, insurance and bond charges etc.
·Prepares tender ready for Director Settlement and allocation of mark-ups.
·Be extremely aware and involved in the upgrading of technology relative to the position.
·Follows up, as required, and provides client with any assistance needed in interpreting the tender submission to maintain excellent working relationships with the clients and potential clients that facilitates repeat business
·Attending site survey's with clients
·Continuously help and support the company growth strategy
·Liaising with engineers, designers, owners, contractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Key Skills and Experience:
·Trade Experience City in Guilds qualified.
·HNC/HND in Building Services
·5+ years in Electrical Estimating or Trade installation Operative role
·Previous experience and knowledge of doing take off of quantities essential
·Detailed knowledge and understanding of labour norms and assess man hours for specific work items associated to tenders
·Excellent communication skills with internal staff and external subcontractors
·Problem solving ability with good decision making skills
·Strong analytical skills
