Bovill is a financial services regulatory consultancy with a wide selection of financial services clients. It is currently looking to hire a Managing Consultant – US Regulatory Advice.
Reporting to the Team Head – Funds and Broking, the Managing Consultant will lead the US Regulatory Advice team whose prime responsibility is to give US regulatory advice across all Bovill locations, principally UK/Europe and Asia. Responsibilities include people management and agreement and delivery of the business plan in conjunction with the Team Head.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- delivering the sector business plan target by securing new, high quality clients through personal contacts or approaches to new prospects, developing and growing existing Bovill clients, delivering work to those clients, delivering initiatives as laid out in the plan and promoting the offering of the sector team through marketing activities including presentations, briefings and external conferences;
- effectively managing the team so the staff can develop and become better consultants and deliver their personal income targets. This includes setting objectives, performance managing and general team development;
- promoting efficient time recording, use of CRM and delivering work according to engagement letter scope and cost; and
- developing Bovill’s technical capacity to provide US regulatory advice. The Head of Technical and Team Head will support this.
The successful candidate must have:
- expertise in the US regulatory regime including SEC rules, FINRA rules and CFTC/NFA rules;
- an understanding of other regulatory jurisdictions, in particular the UK and Europe;
- demonstrable success at business development activities including sales, concluding contracts and pricing;
- experience of managing teams and delivering through others;
- experience of delivering consulting services to financial services firms including project management skills, delivering to budget and effective relationship management; and
- excellent academic credentials.
The successful candidate will also ideally have:
- experience of working in a regulator;
- experience of working in-house as a senior compliance or legal officer;
- experience of delivering professional services to a wide client base;
- external recognition such as having authored publications or articles on regulatory topics;
- a wide contact network of industry professionals;
- membership of relevant trade bodies;
- experience of building new businesses from scratch; and
- a good cultural understanding of working across multiple jurisdictions.
