Excellent opportunity for a Field service engineer or commissioning engineer to join a company that will offer you a varied and technically challenging role.

This company are based in Backwell, Bristol and specialise in the design or special purpose machinery that are supplied into a variety of industries. They're going through a big growth period which will see them double turnover and headcount within 1-2 years.

In this role you will travel the UK and Europe commissioning and servicing special purpose machinery. The role will involves extensive travel where you will be away 4-5 nights a week but always home on the weekend.

The ideal candidate will have experience building and wiring control panels servicing electrical systems or process plant and ideally have experience with PLC's (training will be provided).

This is a great role for an engineer to work from a small but growing company where your skills will be developed and utilised.

The role:

*Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after system assembly and/or installation;
*Assemble electrical and electronic systems according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments;
*Install and maintain electrical control systems and solid state equipment;
*Fault diagnose, modify and programme PLCs, subject to competency;
*Modify electrical parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations;
*Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results;

The person:

*Must have completed an apprenticeship or an equivalent formal training programme in electrical installation and maintenance that includes sufficient relevant practical experience to enable assessment as electrically competent.
*Must hold a City and Guilds level 3 technical certificate or equivalent in an electrical discipline.
*Must hold a City and Guilds 2382 Level 3 certificate in the requirements for electrical installations BS 7671 (17th Edition) or equivalent.
*Have experience building and writing control panels.
*Candidates with PLC fault finding and programing skills will have an advantage,
