Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a busy and successful team
The successful candidate will have experience in Purchase Ledger, ideally from an FMCG environment
Responsible for providing an accurate and timely accounts service and provide support across the accounts team and be flexible to move around the office offering support when needed
- Coding invoices and entering on to the purchase ledger
- Sending invoices to relevant manager for authorisation
- Liaising with managers regarding coding of invoices
- Ensuring all invoices are returned in a timely manner for payments to be made
- Maintaining purchase ledger including creating new supplier records and deleting obsolete records
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Making BACS payments
- Making urgent payments via internet banking
- General accounts office administration
- Assisting other areas of the department when required
- Undertaking such tasks and duties as may be reasonably requested by your Manager or other members of the management team
Experience
- Minimum of 5 year’s experience of working in a busy accounts environment, preferably from within an FMCG organisation
- Strong Purchase Ledger experience essential
- Experience of maintaining a significant sized purchase ledger
- Other Significant Role Requirements & Technical Knowledge: Any further key factors which have a bearing on a candidate’s ability to perform
- High level of integrity as will have access to and work with sensitive information on a daily basis
- Good team worker will offer help to team-mates when required
- Hard working and enthusiastic, has a real can-do attitude
- Must be organised and able to prioritise own workload, often in face of changing and conflicting deadlines
- Proven track record of meeting tight deadlines
- Must pay close attention to detail and produce accurate, high quality work
- Able to work on own initiative
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word
- Must be flexible
