We now have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager specialising in Electrical Switchgear to provide leadership for our electrical work stream projects and promoting health & safety, environmental compliance and construction best practice. You will need an electrical background and the ability to manage projects through to completion, with strong switchgear/substation knowledge and an ENW authorisation.

Your key responsibilities as our Project Manager will include:
• Managing the programme for repair, maintenance and replacement of electrical switchgear within Electricity North West substations
• Ensuring employee’s are appropriately appointed to individual projects based on their skills and abilities
• Effectively motivate and manage your team in delivery of targets and projects in line with budgets and time line
• Providing a forward vision of projects through a detailed programme of work and appropriate management information
• Producing and accurate and attainable programme of work for approval and discuss any technical issues to ensure consistency of installations
• Developing a deep understanding of clients’ needs and requirements
• Liaising with programmers and schedule and implement works, communicating to customers where required appropriate coordination and statutory requirements
• Discussing any health, safety or environmental matters with SHESQ department


You will need the following skills and experience to be our Project Manager:
• A current valid driving license
• Knowledge of DNO / ENWL Electricity Distribution Network
• A switchgear / substation background
• Strong practical knowledge in civil services
• Knowledge of basic health & safety requirements in construction
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
• Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel & Project), able to deliver detailed project plans
• Capable of meeting deadlines without quality compromise
• Exceptional customer management and people management skills
• A proactive and creative approach to problem solving
• The ability to build strong, long term working relationships
• Confident working in pressured environments
• A team player who is also comfortable working under your own initiative
• HNC Qualification would be beneficial but is not essential
• H100 accreditation would be beneficial but is not essential


Hours of work: 7:30AM – 5:00PM with some flexibility required. This role covers the North West, UK.
