Supporting the Fourteen+ and alternative curriculum provision process, the Alternative Curriculum Coordinator will provide a first line information and advice service for all students/parents and schools and administration support as required.

Processing applications and interviews and managing student behaviour in conjunction with Student Services, schools, parents and other stakeholders, you must coordinate all admissions and liaise with the Director of Learner Support to identify student needs, high level needs and arrange support with the school and ALS teams.  Carrying out daily register checks, liaising with tutors, schools, pupils and parents as necessary, you will undertake all administrative tasks associated with the delivery of the Fourteen+ provision, including ordering and distributing kit, equipment and other resources and arrange taster sessions for prospective students.    

Liaising with Assistant Principals in college and school contacts to produce a viable programme for the next academic year, you will assist with the development and maintenance of appropriate systems to support the programme and process student progress reviews and organise and record Fourteen+ student case conferences; providing an information service to students and parents during open days, enrolments and any external events as required.

Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, or Equivalent packages, you will have experience of working in an educational environment, preferably with 14-16-year-old students and the ability to work with young people in a supportive manner.  With up to date knowledge of 14-16 curriculum, you should be accurate, methodical and well organised and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with students and staff.
