APPOINTMENT OF A VICE-CHAIR AND INDEPENDENT MEMBERS TO NHS WALES

We have a number of exciting opportunities to help shape the future of health care in NHS Wales through undertaking a Vice-chair or Independent Member role on a Board, so why not be part of making a difference to your health services in NHS Wales?

We are recruiting for a number of roles in Hywel Dda University Health Board and Veindre NHS Trust, details of which are listed below, for a Vice Chair and Independent members. If you have a genuine desire to make a real difference in these areas, we would like to hear from you.

Hywel Dda University Health Board (UHB) is the planner and provider of all NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties, to a total population of around 384,000 across a quarter of the landmass of Wales.

The Velindre NHS Trust holds a special place at the heart of healthcare in Wales. Established in 1994, the Trust comprises the national Welsh Blood Service, the acclaimed Velindre Cancer Centre, Trust Corporate Services and a small number of organisations hosted on behalf of the Welsh Government and NHS Wales (the NHS Informatics Service, and the NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership).

We are recruiting to the following Heath Boards and NHS Trusts:

Hywel Dda University Health Board– Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire

Vice-Chair

The Vice-Chair will be a member of the Board and will deputise for the Chair in the latter’s absence for any reason. In addition to his/her corporate role across the breadth of the Health Board’s responsibilities, the Vice-Chair will have a specific brief to oversee the Health Board’s performance in the planning, delivery and evaluation of primary, community and mental health services ensuring a balanced care model to meet the needs of the UHB’s population.

Appointments will be made on merit although consideration will be given to geographical spread across the Health Board/Trust catchment area and the need to establish a balanced skills mix.

The Vice-Chair will be appointed for up to four (4) years and the post is based on a notional time commitment of a minimum of thirteen (13) days per month, but this will be subject to organisational demands. The Vice-Chair will be eligible to receive remuneration which equates to £47,736 per annum.

We are particularly interested in hearing from under-represented groups such as women, disabled people and ethnic minority individuals and the skills you have to make a contribution in these roles.

Mae gennym nifer o gyfleoedd cyffrous i helpu i lywio dyfodol gofal iechyd yn GIG Cymru trwy ymgymryd â rôl Is-gadeirydd neu Aelod Annibynnol ar Fwrdd, felly beth am gyfrannu at wneud gwahaniaeth i'ch gwasanaethau iechyd gyda GIG Cymru?

Rydym yn recriwtio ar gyfer nifer o rolau gyda Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Hywel Dda ac Ymddiriedolaeth GIG Felindre, sef Is-gadeirydd ac Aelodau Annibynnol - gweler y manylion isod. Os oes gennych awydd gwirioneddol i wneud gwahaniaeth yn y meysydd hyn, hoffem glywed oddi wrthych.
