A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a qualified Engineer to join an established food manufacturing company which specialises in manufacturing great tasting, high quality bakery products. Based in South Wigston, Leicester, the successful Bakery Engineer will earn a competitive salary, depending on experience.

The company prides itself on providing a range of premium quality of all ambient and wrapped products which all have a BRC accreditation and great shelf lives. As a Bakery Engineer your core duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Flowrapping lines including checkweighers and metal detectors
  • Depositors conveying and bagging lines
  • Cutters both ultrasonic and mechanical
  • Mixers, melting tanks, enrobers and cooling tunnels
  • Having a good understanding of all equipment including gas ovens, refrigeration and fork lifts
  • Keeping administration paperwork for BRC up to date and organised
  • Supporting the Engineer Manager and Production Manager with various engineering requirements they may need throughout the factory
  • Internal workshop on the factory site for repairs and rebuilding
To be considered for the role, proven engineering experience in the food manufacturing sector is preferable, however, non-food engineering experience will also be considered. In addition, you must possess the following key skills and experience:
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Talented and self-motivated
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Ideally you will have a higher level education, with an engineering qualification
  • Ability to work effectively and manage cross-functional engineering projects within the business
  • Working knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering is preferable
