We’re now looking for a Material Sampling Operative to join our team in Luton, to ensure compliance with MRF reporting protocol by planning, sampling, and reporting in line with permit / sampling regulations. You will also assist with the operation of mobile plant and the weighbridge.
Your responsibilities as Material Sampling Operative will be:
• To have a good understanding of the MRF protocol and its application
• To undertake sampling of incoming and outgoing materials, which involves hand sorting through recyclables and weighing the separate fractions
• Complete reports presenting the sampling data
• To inspect all incoming recycling material for contamination and where necessary apply the waste rejection procedure
• To liaise with the council on a daily basis regarding recyclable material
• To complete waste returns
• To operate mobile plant and provide weighbridge cover
• Keep the working area and equipment clean and tidy
• Ensure equipment is used and stored in a safe and efficient manner
We’re looking for a Material Sampling Operative who has:
• Experience working within the waste industry particularly in MRF / Transfer Stations
• IT Literate to complete online data
• Plant Operator licence/FLT licence
• Good communication skills
• Courteous and polite
• Is able to work individually or as part of a team.
