Engineering & Operations Supervisor
We have a new vacancy for an Engineering & Operations Supervisor to take day to day control of our brand new engineering heritage workshops and our narrow gauge operations.
This is a new role which a talented engineer can make his/her own. Reporting directly to the General Manager of the South Tynedale Railway Preservation Society, this hands on role is line manager to a number of volunteers and staff and so we are looking for extensive management experience as well as a qualified engineer. Various types of engineering qualifications will be considered, and it is not essential to have a background in heritage or steam, although that would be preferred.
The purpose of the role in brief is to supervise all engineering and operational volunteers, staff and engineering apprentices to ensure the management plan is adhered to; to supervise workshop activities, cleanliness, training, projects, H&S, stock movements, all engineering activity and train prep for services & events, within a great team.
We operate 7 days a week so this full time role will work 5/7 days, nominally 40 hours a week.
A competitive salary can be agreed with the right candidate, and with 28 days holiday a year, plus Christmas and New Year bank holidays, stakeholder pension and our brand new workshops, this is an exciting role for the right individual. A relocation package can be discussed.
This vacancy closes on the 25th November, with interviews the first week in December.
Full C.V with covering letter to include salary expectations, should be posted to Heather Palmer - General Manager by following the instructions at the bottom of this page.
