Does your experience of working with/supporting individuals with mental health problems include providing advice and guidance, developing structured action plans and goal setting? Would you like to be part of an organisation that counts on the professionalism, insight, expertise and passion of its staff to inspire individual recovery for the people they work with? Then join us as a community links adviser.

Recovery Focus are expert partners with the shared aim to inspire individual recovery nationwide. Between us we have a track record of more than 200 years of developing and running personalised services that work with people with mental health, substance misuse and other complex needs to achieve their ambitions. Each partner organisation has its own rich history of success, but together we believe we can lead the way in evidence-based recovery pathways that we can tailor to meet local and individual needs.

Right now, one of our partners, Richmond Fellowship, is looking for a community links adviser to join their East Surrey Community Connections Service which focuses on supporting people to access opportunities in their local community to increase their wellbeing. But it’s only possible with the help of people like you.

Your challenge? To offer advice, guidance and support to individuals experiencing mental health problems that will enable them to access mainstream services, including education and training, leisure, sports and religious/spiritual centres. Negotiating opportunities on their behalf will be important too, as will carrying out detailed research into the statutory, voluntary and commercial sectors. And, when it comes to publicising current opportunities for community participation or building partnerships with other community agencies, again, we'll rely on you.

To succeed, you’ll need experience of supporting disadvantaged individuals to access and become integrated into mainstream services. You’ll should also be great at networking/liaising with community groups and services and have a good understanding of routes into community-based activities. Well organised yet flexible, with excellent listening, motivational, presentation and IT skills, you’re used to working to, and meeting, targets. What's more, you have lots of initiative, enjoy investigating and researching opportunities and love developing and promoting a service.

In return, you can expect some great benefits, including 25 days' annual leave (pro rata) plus statutory bank holidays and a contributory pension scheme after a qualifying period.

So, get inspired today. Visit our website and take the first steps towards a more fulfilling career.
