Our client is looking for a qualified Health and Social Care Assessor to join their team in a field based role covering Sunderland and the North East of England.

It is essential that candidates hold a CAVA / TAQA, A1 or D32/ D33 Assessing Award.

You will have a full caseload of level 5 Health and Social Care learners so it is essential that you have experience / competency delivering at level 5.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing training organisation as this role has been created due to growth. The company operates specifically in the North East of England and employ about 40 members of staff. They describe themselves as a relaxed company.

In addition to being a qualified Assessor, you will also need a strong background in Health and Social Care (Adult / Elderly Care) to Supervisory / Managerial level and will need to hold a Level 3 or above qualification in Care.

Ideally you will have experience of working in a variety of environments and roles within residential and domiciliary care to managerial level with adult/elderly service users.

You will travel to meet learners that are completing Apprenticeships in their own place of work and you will also deliver Functional Skills.

Key duties

This role will involve assessing Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care, specifically the Level 5 Health and Social Care award. This will also include delivering Functional Skills and Technical Certificates if ever delivering level 2 or 3 qualifications.

This is a work based learning role so you will be travelling to meet with learners in their own place of work. The average caseload is 40 - 45 learners.

The company use Quals Direct e-portfolio system.

You will be required to keep learners motivated and on track throughout the duration of their Apprenticeship. This will involve setting them tasks to complete when you are not there, carrying out observations on the work they are completing and gathering witness testimonials and statements from other colleagues and staff. Initial Assessments and basic skills tests will be carried out when signing learners on to the Apprenticeship programme.

Hours: Monday - Friday. Standard hours are 9am - 5pm (1 hour lunch) although flexibility will be required in order to manage your caseload

Holidays: 25 days per annum + Bank holidays

Salary:£23,000 - £25,000 per annum (Dependent on Skills, qualifications and experience)

Travel:Field based role with travel throughout Sunderland and the North East. Business mileage is paid at 25p per mile.
