Quantity Surveyor (Planned Works)

Salary: £32,000 - £42,000 Dependant on experience

Based: Basildon, Essex

Start Date: ASAP

Morgan Sindall Property Services is the service division of the £2 billion Morgan Sindall Group. We work with a wide variety of public and private sector clients and specialise in the full range of facility management and responsive repair and maintenance activity. Our main areas of expertise include: building management systems, day-to-day responsive repairs, facilities management, void property refurbishments, insurance activity, programmed maintenance, and electrical and gas installations, servicing and repairs.

Due to our success and growth plans we are now looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to oversee our Planned Works contract in Basildon, Essex.

About The Quantity Surveyor (Planned Works) Role:

The purpose of the role is to manage the day to day financial, cost control, reporting and commercial performance of planned works on a social housing contract based in Basildon.

You will be responsible for the effective commercial management of all allocated projects including provision of timely and accurate documentation in accordance with the Surveying timetable, in particular Monthly Cost/Value Reports, all elemental reconciliations, cash flow forecasts, etc.

You will also take the lead to establish appropriate targets/rates and re-measurement/evaluation of subcontractor/labour only/direct labour outputs.

The ideal Quantity Surveyor:

You will have experience of working on and pricing planned projects.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills and deliver effective interaction with all members of the project team. You will have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with the client, employer's representative and supply chain.

To be successful in this Quantity Surveyor role, you will have a proven track record in a Quantity Surveying / commercial role, particularly within the property services or similar related industry. You will have experience of leading the commercial function and demonstrate effective cash management of the project.

You may have experience of the following: Quantity Surveying, Commercial lead, Cost planning, Commercial Management, Contract administration, Property Services, Facility Management, Construction, Building Management Systems, Procurement, Risk Management, Task Management IT systems.
