Witness Support Officer

Harvey Nash's public based client is currently looking for a number of Witness Support Officers to join a high profile piece of work within the city centre of Edinburgh. You will be part of a team responsible for the interface between witnesses, the organisation and supporting organisations providing continuity of contact through various stages of the process. This role involves working with people who have faced/facing difficult circumstances and requires a high level of effective interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with complex and sensitive issues.

Essential Skills:
*Excellent oral and written communication skills
*Highly effective interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with complex and sensitive issues
*Experience of working in a high-profile and public-facing environment
*The ability to make sound decisions, often autonomously and with pace
*Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
*Good project management skills

Whilst it is not essential it would be highly advantageous if you were to have a background of working with survivors of abuse, an understanding of trauma and understand issues facing vulnerable witnesses.
