Support Worker
Eastbourne, BN22
£16,016 p/a + overtime available + pension + 28 days
Our client provides comprehensive social care for adults with a learning disability and is now recruiting for an experienced Support Worker / Driver in the Eastbourne area to join their growing team.
They pride themselves on all staff being not only highly trained to deal with any situation; but they have a genuine desire and interest in supporting people with all levels of need.
Position Summary
As Support Worker, you will be required to undertake the following responsibilities in order to thrive within this role;
• In order to support people with complex and challenging needs to live fulfilling lives , you will have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the term Learning Disability
• Ensure to promote independence through the key worker system
• Be reliable, compassionate, honest and patient
• Attend training to update and develop skills, this will include the care certificate
• Keep accurate records, write reports, deal with appointments, attend meetings and liaise with other professionals
Who are we looking for?
• Employment subject to Enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory reference
• Must hold clean current driving licence with a D1 entitlement
• Previous experience is preferable.
• Induction and additional training will be provided. QCF or NVQ 2 is an advantage.
• Must have a sense of humour; be reliable, patient, honest and able to multi-task. Any additional ability with arts, craft, and music or the planning of and running of activities would be a bonus.
• Must have a genuine desire to care for others and to work to ensure day service members have the best time ever at our day service.
Employment offer is subject to Proof of Eligibility to Work in the UK, Enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references.
