Our client, a science and technology innovation and product development company based in South Cambridge, is looking for a full time marketing executive to join their central marketing team. The role will report to the Head of Marketing and will suit an individual who is proactive, enjoys being a key team member and who has a passion for science and technology. The role is primarily based in the Cambridge office but the successful candidate must be happy to travel to our client's other UK locations from time to time. The job is suitable for someone with 1-2 years' marketing experience and with a marketing qualification such as CIM Certificate in Marketing (or working towards such a qualification). Candidates with previous experience working in marketing consulting services including training and membership services may be at an advantage.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Event Management
  • Managing attendance at external events and seminars
  • Event logistics, planning and marketing communications
  • Design Administration: Proof-reading, maintain stocks, distribution
  • Business Development Support: Identify relevant contacts through data mining, update database (salesforce.com)
  • Salesforce admin support: Data housekeeping, undertake regular checks on Meeting Note entry
  • Business Intelligence: List building, credit checks
  • Email campaigns administration: Sync emails, update statuses, add new referred contacts to salesforce, maintain spreadsheets and ensure follow ups are actioned
  • Website support: Assist with content management system housekeeping tasks
  • Marketing admin and support: Raise purchase orders, record spend and set up new suppliers, handle and log email enquiries, maintain showroom and reception literature, maintain photo library including sourcing new images and assisting with photo shoots, assist with journal subscriptions and renewals, assist with event logistics, assist with PowerPoint presentation updates.

 

 

Candidates are expected to have a good academic background and proven administration experience. Candidates must be keen to develop a career in marketing and it would be advantageous to have previous experience (1-2 years) working in a marketing team. A degree is Business or Marketing would be advantageous and you will need an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Familiarity with CRM systems and design packages is needed and knowledge of both SalesForce and InDesign would be an advantage. You will need good writing skills and experience of updating websites (knowledge of WordPress and/or Drupal would be an advantage). You will need excellent attention to detail and must be ready and able to exercise initiative.  The ideal candidate will be someone who has the ability to work effectively as part of a team, the ability to multi-task and operate effectively and efficiently under pressure in a fast moving environment, the ability to work to tight deadlines and with good organisational and interpersonal skills.
