Working in care can be an AMAZING.

Are you ready to be an AMAZING Carer?

It takes a very special person to be a Carer. People can be taught to carry out care tasks but being a caring person comes from the heart.
Being a care worker involves helping people with daily tasks that we take for granted, such as washing, dressing, using the toilet and eating and drinking, which can be extremely difficult for an older person with Dementia. You will also undertake some general housekeeping duties as part of your work to support people living in our home.

Could you be an AMAZING Carer and make a real difference to the people living in our home?
As a residential care home for up to 19 people, we pride ourselves on people feeling part of one big family, in a place people can call home, rather than a home.

This home is a delightful Tudor residential care home, in the pretty and attractive village of Ashurst. Its peaceful location, on the edge of the beautiful, picturesque New Forest National Park offers an ideal location for a restful retirement.

The home is within walking distance of shops and other amenities. Ashurst Station, with frequent trains into Southampton, Bournemouth, London and other large cities in the South, is a five minutes' walk.

As English is the first language for the majority of our residents, you will need a level of spoken and written English to enable you to communicate clearly and effectively with people living in the home. You must be able to communicate using good listening skills, verbal and non-verbal communication as well as reading and writing skills to enable you to work to our policies and procedures.

Other important factors about the job are the need to take responsibility for your own actions, ability to undertake moving and handling of people and objects on a regular basis and willingness and ability to work flexibly. In our home you will have the benefit of an agreed number of contract hours and as part of the contract we will expect you to work the shifts allocated to you.

We are looking for people with experience of care work, preferably with a care qualification gained in the workplace or people with a passion for care work who are willing and able to undertake care qualifications. As part of your contract we will also expect achievement of agreed development activities with us.
