Human Factors Engineer required to help deliver an optimally designed solution with respect to all aspects for Human Factors. The role requires experience in championing and executing human centred design practices and usability sessions as part of an overall user experience. The candidate must be a team player and willing to work across geographical and cultural divides to derive a balanced system solution.

The ability to lead various design sessions as part of an agile working environment in addition to the presentation of designs to internal and external customers.

Typical activitis will include:
Provision of technical input to the Human Factors Integration and Human Factors Engineering activities across the programme.
Develop and maintain HF schedule planning, monitoring and reporting.
Plan and execute HF assessments.
The identification of HF risks and opportunities.
Conducting, facilitating, and document user focused group discussions.
Define and review product and system specifications for HF content, define requirements.
Participation in the Human Factors functional group whose aim is to grow the HF capability.

The successful candidate will have the below skills:
Proven HF experience on engineering development programmes in the defence industry, or other domain with relevant to HCI and User Experience.
At least 5 years of user interface design experience, preferably in complex systems.
Experience using usability standards and processes.
Experience of Agile and SCRUM techniques and methodologies desirable.
Experience in Multi-channel HCI development desirable.
Familiarity with Axure or a similar prototyping tool.
Experience with Human Factors techniques and tools (Task Analysis, Usability Testing, and Heuristic Reviews) Familiar with Defence Standards, Military Standards and EC Directives.
Familiar with various industry style guides and operating systems.
Willing to travel within the UK and overseas.
Candidates must be willing to undergo a security vetting procedure.
