Project Manager - Childrens Services
NB: Candidates must have relevant local authority services PM experience (not a technical PM)
Location: Exeter, Devon
Rate: Negotiable
Duration: 2 months +

Overview of Role:
Re-engineering of the Children's Partnership in Devon. Outputs for the project will be revised terms of reference, membership, governance structures drafted and agreed with the partners.

Ideal candidates will hold:
* Political acumen
* Experience of partnership working
* Some knowledge of children's services, LSCB structure and the Woods review is essential
* Able to deal with people appropriately at a high level but also willing to muck in and produce products
* Ability to bring structure and deliver
* Available quickly and for 2 months with potential to extend

In particular the post-holder will -
* Work closely with the Devon Safeguarding Children's Board Manager to lead on the management of change process with a particular focus on providing strong and effective project management to ensure agreed outcomes are delivered
* Work closely with the Devon Safeguarding Children's Board Manager and other key officers to establish and manage appropriate governance arrangements
* Work with (and to) the chairs of both the DSCB and Children, Young People and Family Alliance to develop the detail of this work and meet regularly with one or both throughout the lifetime of the project
* Identify, develop and maintain relevant internal relationships with the Devon Safeguarding Children's Board and partnerships, in particular the Devon Children, Young People and Family Alliance, and external organisations both local and national as necessary

Responsibilities
* Support the implementation of the Devon Safeguarding Children's Board project ensuring that change initiatives are implemented across the Councils and relevant partner agencies identified.
* Manage, review and resolve any issues relating to budgets/financial information/resources so that agreed targets are met, reports are prepared and delivered.
* Manage the project budget on behalf of the board
* Ensure there is an efficient use of resources, data is managed effectively and corrective action is taken when necessary and value for money is maximised.
* Utilise standard project management methodologies in the running of the project
