SUPPORTED LIVING HOUSE MANAGER

(Salary c. £28,000 p.a. pro rata depending on experience)

Approximately 15 hours per week, ideally over Mon-Fri

The ABBEYFIELD (NORTHALLERTON & DISTRICT) SOCIETY seeks a House Manager for its supported living house Fir Lodge on South Parade in Northallerton. An attractive remuneration package is offered based on 15 hours with flexibility allowed, occasional weekend or evening work, salary and pension, and additional hours as required.

Abbeyfield is a charitable organisation providing sheltered accommodation for older people in their own tenancies. It is not a care home. Our emphasis is on providing a homely environment and helping residents maintain their independence.

This is an interesting and varied role managing a house accommodating up to 12 residents and providing support to an Executive Committee of Trustees. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of Fir Lodge and the oversight of catering and domestic services. A good standard of education is required with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and, most importantly, an enjoyment of working with older people and a willingness to work flexible hours. The successful candidate will also have competent IT skills, and the ability to drive. DBS clearance is also required.

In addition to the attractive salary package, pension and employment terms and conditions, a two-bedroomed flat at Fir Lodge can be provided at subsidised rates. Visits to Fir Lodge, by appointment, will be welcomed.

Interested candidates should send their CV with a covering letter stating why they feel they are suitable for this responsible position, with names of two referees (though references will not be taken up until shortlisting) by 15th November 2016.

Further details of the post, with role, responsibilities and accountability can be obtained by telephoning 01609 773277 or 776499.
