Job Description:

To manage and support the team that will provide a comprehensive Quality Assurance and Technical service to manufacturing, at the Histon site. Maintaining and ensuring effective delivery of the Quality Management System (QMS) to site and Histon Sweet Spreads expectations, whilst ensuring the operation complies with all legislative, quality and ethical standards.

Key Accountabilities:

Safety, Quality, Hygiene - Compliance of products, systems and personnel to current EU and UK food safety legislation, managing, updating and communicate audit for compliance to quality, safety, HCCP & CMP policies / procedures.

People Management - Manage and motivate the Team, ensure efficient operation and sufficient skills and resources are met to site requirements, priorities and objectives within the production and business plan.

Operations Management – Contribute to the development of site strategy, technical policy and the Business Strategy, whilst providing technical and technological experience to the site.

Continuous Improvement - Support product-, process- & environmental improvements to meet legislative and customer requirements. Support improvement plans covering all operational KPIs within the team whilst having responsibility for achieving personal development objectives.

Communication - Support communication with regulatory authorities (EHO/Trading Standards), accreditation bodies and retail customers and actively support site wide briefings by ensuring all employees receive relevant monthly briefings.

Experience and Capabilities required:

  • A levels, HND / OND in Science subjects. HACCP level 3 or 4.
  • 5 Years’ experience in food manufacturing technical roles., have experience of retailer and BRC standards.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Be able to write technical responses suitable for customer submission.
  • Be organised and methodical.
