As a Purchasing Administration Assistant, you’ll be tasked with supporting the Purchasing Team and undertaking a variety of supply chain and project activities. 

In this varied role, you will assist with contracts, recommend and deal with supplier changes, create purchase orders and obtain quotes from suppliers, placing orders from the lowest cost source. 

You’ll raise complaints with suppliers for incoming goods, co-ordinate imports and ensure purchasing processes are efficient, accurate and effective. Additionally, you will provide cover for the Senior Buyer, deal with stakeholders in relation to purchasing activities and support local and group projects.

To be considered, you must have: 

- Experience of working within a purchasing or supply chain function 
- Experience gained within a manufacturing and/or operational background 
- Knowledge of SAP, ideally the purchasing or supply chain module 
- At a minimum, five GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths 

Self-motivated and flexible, as a Purchasing Administration Assistant, you’ll also need excellent communication skills and a confident, reliable nature. Strong organisational and analytical abilities are also key. 

Experience of dealing with suppliers and negotiating prices would be beneficial to your application. A track record of cost saving, quality and/or efficiency improvements would also be advantageous, as would packaging skills gained within a manufacturing environment. Experience of the artwork approval process would be equally favourable.
