Our new integrated service delivery team is expanding and we have a number of exciting opportunities for creative and highly motivated women with a broad understanding of domestic abuse issues, complex needs and a commitment to providing a high quality inclusive service within Bristol.

Female Duty Telephone Helpline Worker

Salary Point 16: £16,969 pro-rata (includes participation on out of hours telephone on-call rota)     

Hours: 20 hours (Including some evening and Saturday working on a rota basis)

Duty Helpline Workers are responsible for providing a high quality telephone crisis response service providing advice, information, advocacy and support to women and children experiencing domestic abuse; families; professionals and other users of the Next Link helpline. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • experience of providing telephone or 1-1 support to vulnerable people
  • an understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on women and children
  • the ability to assess risk and need and support the victim to put an action plan in place  
  • the ability to provide respectful, non-judgemental, and confidential support to women and their children
  • the ability to respond effectively in a crisis situation
