Welfare Assistant.18.5 hours a week. Temporary - Maternity cover.
We are one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with more than 21,400 learners studying with us on a wide range of courses. Our mission is to equip people with the skills they need to be successful in education, in work and business and in their personal lives.
You will receive and process Learner Support Fund Applications submitted by Learners applying for financial support. You will have excellent customer service skills and be able to deliver a front line service providing advice and guidance in relation to welfare support.
You will be educated to Grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent). You will also hold a CLAIT Level 2 or equivalent level of skills and have effective communications skills. It would be beneficial but not essential that you have knowledge and understanding of the welfare benefit system. Experience of working with people within an advisory context, including enquiry, handling and resolution is an essential.
