Job Description

What is the role?

You will provide a quality teaching service throughout the Authority.  The newly established ASD Outreach Service (Secondary) aims to support children and young people with autism spectrum disorder in secondary schools across South Ayrshire.  The service is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced teacher to support the development of this service.  The role will include:
  • identifying barriers to learning for individuals in secondary education through observations and discussions with young people, staff, family and other professionals as appropriate.
  • empowering staff to introduce, understand and continue with strategies and interventions to reduce barriers to learning and enable young people on the autistic spectrum to progress to their full potential.
  • supporting transition for children and young people to secondary education.
