SC Cleared IDA Lead
The role of the IDA is to provide design and implementation assurance for all active and passive network components delivered.
*Experience of IDA role requirements (desirable up to Team Leader) on previous IT Infrastructure implementations
*Experience of dealing with difficult/complex client/sub-contractor relationships/engagements
*Experience of working in multi-disciplined teams
*Experience of delivering work and projects within tight deadlines
*Experience of face paced migrations
*Educated to Degree level or have relevant commercial experience
*Fluent written documentation and verbal English skills, along with excellent communication and reporting skills
*The ability to travel within the UK and overseas and must be flexible in their working hours and location
*Ability work independently and to be able to communicate with end customers
In delivering the role, IDA is expected to carry out the following:
Survey, Design & As fitted Pack production for NSofIT
Production of the site Design Pack for the installation and final decommission activities (potentially 2 design packs Dependent of sequencing), these are to comprise but not limited to the following:
*Site Survey - To establish feasibility to deploy NSofIT into existing NER structures
*Survey minutes - Production of survey minutes suitably detailed to be used as a design or point of reference document by others.
*Network Schematic - Identifying only the re-fresh items requirements which have been installed.
*Rack Layout - Identifying all items installed within the relevant Rack/Racks at the time of refresh
*CIC/Patch List - Identifying only the re-fresh items connectivity requirements which have been installed within the cabinet at the time the identified change.
*DANDAF - Core Network Assets for decommissioning document identifying all equipment to be decommissioned
*SANDAF - Network Server Assets for decommissioning document identifying all equipment to be decommissioned
*RAP - Life cycle for the NSofIT from Survey/Design through to AF Pack Acceptance by the IDA
*MRI - Identifying the issued documents and versions at the time this change.
Administer and manage the implementation and change process for all site delivery activity within his/her area of responsibility (though not always required) to including:
*Tracking and progress of site activity
*Delivery of ECR1 to ECR5 as appropriate
*Delivery of the Minimum Baseline Measures Matrix (MBMM) report where appropriate.
*Delivery of the Beneficial Usage Statement (BUS)
*Delivery of the TEMPEST Countermeasures Assessment (TCA) report as appropriate.
*Delivery of the Site Security Checklist.
*Delivery of a Statement of Needs (SON)
Attend the site survey and provide design consultation (though not always required) on the following:
*Design compliance & options
*Non-standard solution opportunities
*Value for Money review
*Health and Safety compliance
*Electrical and environmental requirements for delivery in the SON
Undertake the following activities to in order to provide assurance of the Site Design pack and the final As-Fitted document set.
*Technical assessment of the design architecture to ensure that it is functionally correct.
*Review of all diagrams to ensure the network layout is complete and consistent with the design decisions made at survey.
*Review of the 'Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure accuracy and consistency with the design.
*Review of security documentation for completeness, accuracy and consistency with the design.
*Review of all test certificates to ensure compliance with relevant standards including:
b.Copper cable test results
c.Fibre-optic cable test results
Carry out on-site inspections of the network installation at the following stages:
1.1.1.BUS (Beneficial User Statement)
Carry out a full inspection of all network components to ensure that installed infrastructure is:
a.Inspect the Network equipment cabinets to ensure electrical and environmental safety
b.Inspect the Passive Network installation to ensure is compliant & conformance to Manufacturer and JSP 480 or JSP604 Leaflet 4800 - 4803 & JSP440 requirements and any associated British standards requirements subject to the individual new or enhanced design requirements
Carry out a full inspection of all network components to ensure that installed infrastructure is compliant with:
b.Customer site closure policy
c.Customer, National and European standards
The following are required to qualify for the appointment as IDA:
*Have passed the MOD SCIDA course
*Minimum SC clearance
*A suitable employment history in a relevant network design and installation
*A demonstrable knowledge of network testing procedures
*A demonstrable knowledge of security and installation standards
*PRINCE2?? qualified or Project Management experience within a Prince environment
*BICSI RCDD?? (Registered Communications Distribution Designer)
*CDCDP?? (Certified Data Centre Design Professional)
*CNIDP?? (Certified Network Infrastructure Design Professional)
*Previous IDA experience and/or exposure in a suitable role equivalent ie SCIDA, Passive LAN/Campus Network Design
*Microsoft Office skills to include: Visio, Word, Excel & Project
*AutoCAD design experience
