The post-holder will be expected to work closely with the Primary ITE team to provide an excellent learning experience for student teachers, taking advantage of recent relevant teaching experience as appropriate. The post-holder will be required to deliver teaching in a variety of different learning environments and use a variety of teaching styles and approaches, as appropriate for effective provision of initial teacher education. A central part of the role will be to enhance student teachers’ knowledge and understanding of teaching English and Literacy in the primary years, including Foundation Phase. The post-holder will contribute to a number of modules on the Primary PGCE programme in Swansea and the Primary BAEd-QTS programme in Carmarthen and may contribute to programmes of professional learning at PG level as appropriate.

If appointed at Senior Lecturer, the post holder will take responsibility for strategic leadership of the primary English/Literacy provision across the under-graduate and postgraduate programmes. The Senior Lecturer post holder will also be responsible for the assuring the quality and consistency of provision across the primary programmes, and will work closely with the programme management team in this regard.
