Permanent, 30 hours per week

Our client provides a range of social care, special education, community support and consultancy services in the North West of England. The charity is one of the North West’s largest providers of residential homes for children from short-term emergency care to long-term placements. Their fostering service provides family placements in the North West and neighbouring regions.

They are now looking to appoint a Waking Night Care Worker to enable service users with complex learning disabilities, and/or an autism spectrum condition, to lead an independent life having due regard to their health, aspirations and social needs within their home living environment.

Working a number of waking night shifts, you will be expected to support users throughout the night, providing a caring, safe, secure and accepting environment that meets their basic physical, health and social needs and rights. Under the direction of the Behaviour Support Leads, you will comply with essential care and support programmes and undertake key tasks which may include a range of domestic duties and cleaning.

They are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and outgoing individual who has a level of maturity, skills and interests which can be utilised to engage with their young people. With knowledge of the issues affecting disabled people, you will be able to undertake the full range of tasks, in a well-planned way that respects and values the tenants as individuals.

With excellent organisational and time management skills, you will hold a Level 3 QCF award in Health and Social Care or be willing to commence the award within timescales set by the Trust.

You must be 21 years of age to be considered for this role due to the Ofsted regulations that stipulate staff must be a minimum of 3 years older than the potential oldest child in the house.
