Emergency Accommodation Night Worker

Bristol

Working hours: 45 hours per week (worked on a rota basis)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £7.85/hour (increasing to £8.25/hr after probation)

Connolly and Callaghan Ltd is a property development company which builds and maintains properties for the affordable housing market. It is currently the largest emergency accommodation provider in Bristol and the South West, providing shelter for families on a nightly basis.

Connolly & Callaghan are looking for a hardworking and reliable Emergency Accommodation Night Worker to look after various properties and ensure tenants’ comfort in and around the Bristol area.

Your duties as the Emergency Accommodation Night Worker will include (but are not limited to):

  • Making sure the properties are secure at night.
  • Interacting with service users; answering questions, updating them on any changes and dealing with complaints in order to make all residents feel happy.
  • Report any maintenance issues to maintenance team via email, informing day staff what was reported.
  • Completing inductions with new service users, ensuring the house rules, amenities and H&S procedures are explained fully and signed as necessary.
  • Inspection of properties – making sure they are clean and in good working order.
  • Updating logs/diaries to show any changes and ensure the message books are up to date after completing evening checks.
  • Helping with tenants’ move – changing/moving furniture as and when required.
  • To work in accordance with the Lone Working Policy and procedures.
  • Being first respondent for any emergencies.
  • Carrying out any other duties necessary to the smooth running of the properties.

What will you need in becoming the successful Emergency Accommodation Night Worker?

  • Hardworking
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Computer literate
  • Required education: GCSE or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar property security role
  • Driving Licence is essential
  • DBS check will be required for this role
