Hours: Part time - 21 hours per week - Wednesday (Half day - 5 hours), Thursday (8:30 - 5:30), Friday (8:30 - 5:30)

About the role

An opportunity has become available for a Nursery Officer to join our small knit team at Oak Tree Day Nursery.  Providing a secure, happy and stimulating environment you will support children to explore, discover and learn through play and develop to their full potential.  You will work in partnership with parents, as well as act as a key person to a group of children, having special responsibility for ensuring that their individual needs are met.  You will be responsible for providing quality childcare and education for children attending the nursery.  You will support children's learning through high quality interactions with children during child initiated and adult initiated play and activities.  You will be responsible for providing quality childcare and education for children attending the nursery. 

About you (Requirements)

You will be qualified in NVQ Level 3 in Early Years and degree qualified.  You will have gained previous Early Years experience and be able to comply with safeguarding children procedures.  You will have a thorough understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.  You will be committed to providing a high quality childcare and education.  You will be an excellent communicator and be able to listen and respond to children and their parents.  You will be able to follow nursery procedures, policies and systems effectively.  You will have the ability to work and build good relationships with others to achieve outcomes for children.  You will be able to resolve day to day issues by following guidelines and using your own initiative.

You will be able to comply with the safeguarding children procedures and be able to maintain an inclusive environment and be able to comply with health and safety standards and identify and control risks to children.  

The Nursery benefits from using the woodland area on campus to offer Children Forest School sessions, so a passion for being outdoors and providing learning outdoors is essential.
