Role Purpose

A vacancy has arisen for a full time Adult Advocate within the Domestic Abuse Advocacy Support Service (DAAS). The post is based within the Safer Communities Team, Scottish Borders Council Headquarters.

The Advocate will be responsible for providing a pro-active, short to medium term support service in a multi-agency framework, focusing on high risk victims of domestic abuse, keeping the client’s safety central to all co-ordinated responses through safety planning, risk assessment and personal support. There will be an expectation that the Advocate will contribute to the on call (monthly) rota.



Essential

Professional qualification in a related field, such as domestic abuse, social work, education, health, criminal justice, housing, or evidence of comparable experience and subsequent relevant training in this specialised field.
