Are you ready to take on the challenge of managing a community venue with a view to bringing it up to date, to increase usage. and to develop the hall ?
 
As a frontline person, in constant contact with the public including those hiring the Halls’ facilities, you will be responsible for all staff and a number of supportive and enthusiastic volunteers. Alongside the National Council, Trustees and other volunteers, you will help develop and monitor the centre’s viability as a functions and conference venue, as well as helping to implement the start-up systems and maintaining these, including a booking system, financial systems, security, maintenance, health and safety and marketing.
 
The successful candidate must have:

+ Proven management skills & experience
+ Proven record in using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
+ Effective use of social media and email
+ Good interpersonal and team work
+ Good written and spoken English – Knowledge of Urdu and Memon would useful but not essential
+ Able to start immediately
 
Your work will include the following tasks/The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Manage the day to day running of the centre including hiring and managing contractors to maintain the centre:
 
+ Advertise and market the hall for hire, for conferences, events, sports and other activities in magazines, online and social media
+ Answering inquiries and providing information verbally, in writing and electronically.
+ Operating office equipment and managing office space.
+ Website management: update website daily and as needed.
+ Partaking in event organisation.
+ Screening phone calls, inquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate
+ Meeting and greeting visitors at all levels of seniority.
+ Corresponding on behalf of the National Council and Trustees.
+ Preparing and managing correspondence, reports and documents.
+ Maintaining office accounts and first-level book keeping.
+ Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the centre – Ensure all safety certificates are in place and updated as required
+ Assist the National Council in their day to day requirements including attending National Council and Trustees meetings
+ Manage all hire contracts and ensuring clients adhere to the terms.
+ To maintain an up to date diary of all events / incidents in the centre
+ Identifying and reporting any issues that require decisions by the National Council and ensuring that the resulting actions are taken.
+ Liaising with the treasurer ensuring all financial information is passed on and fully updated
+ Ensure that you are up to date in your first aid training as you will be one of the designated first aiders
+ Ensure that all Health and safety procedures and protocols are adhered to
+ To liaise, give access, and monitor the work of all contractors / operatives / tradespeople to ensure performance is consistent with the appropriate standards
+ To at all times adhere to the policies and procedures laid down by Management
+ Dealing with inappropriate parking on site and on adjacent property
+ To monitor the CCTV system and to report any irregularities immediately to the Management or the appropriate emergency services.
+ To check internal and external light fittings, replacing bulbs and adjusting time clocks as necessary.
+ To be involved in discussion regarding the development of the centre
+ Focus will be to develop client and industry relationships to maximise income and event space hire, thereby increase usage and hire of the centre
 
Monday to Friday 9.00am to 6.00pm plus up to 8 weekend/Bank holidays days in the year.
