A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Transport Planner to join our Distribution Team in the North East . Reporting to the Despatch Supervisor you would be expected to optimise all programs of works maximising volume, whilst reacting in a timely fashion to any internal or external unplanned events. So the ability to think on your feet is essential. You would deliver and plan the distribution of materials and regional orders in the most cost effective manner whilst delivering optimal volumes. You would also need to ensure high levels of vehicle utilisation and low levels of haulier issues and continually provide high levels of customer service and communication to both internal and external customers. Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills are also essential along with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. A high degree of IT literacy is desirable. Previous experience of transport planning is essential for this role.
