HOD Science - Bromley , Kent - ASAP or January 2017 start - Permanent role - LPS
Are you an experienced Science Leader or Teacher looking for a role at a fantastic Bromley Academy with excellent behaviour and a passion for learning? Would you be keen to find a science department that has produced excellent results at both GCSE and A-Level over the past few years and now needs an inspirational leader to drive further progress?

*Open to all Physics, Chemistry or Biology specialisms - KS3 to 5

About the School - HOD Science, Bromley
This school has only recently converted to an Academy with the view to become one of the best schools in not only Bromley but the South-East. The school has a solid 'Good' Ofsted report from when it was last inspected but progress compare to entry level ability has not been as high as it should have hence why the school has never achieved the top Ofsted grade. The new head and leadership team have a clear plan as to how they want to improve the school and the first phase of this is to recruit a number of strong leaders in core subjects to drive progress and attainment throughout the school. The Academy is also investing heavily in terms of the school infrastructure with a fully building programme to undertaken that includes full refurbishment of some parts of the school while other parts will be completely rebuilt. On top of this the SLT at this school are introducing plenty of support and development for all teachers in the form of ongoing professional development opportunities.
About the Role - HOD Science, Bromley
This school has a large and popular science department that is staff by 11 teachers and an inspirational Head of Department. The school has recently refurbished the whole science block meaning state of the art teaching facilities are available for the successful candidate. This school has a full range of students with varying different ability levels so a science teacher who is able to show effect differentiation and the ability to help students make consistent progression is a must. The school offers a great support structure with senior leadership playing a key role in staff development at all stages. The school offers ongoing CPD and career progression for excellent teachers. For new teachers the school is able to offer a leading induction programme which can be started in January.
