Quality Assurance Engineer job in Lancaster, for an well-established manufacturer, paying a competitive salary

Your new company
This organisation is well-established and their products can be traced back over a couple of hundred years. They are a global leader in the products they manufacture, with customers in over a hundred countries, across a varied range of industries. Due to growth, they are looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Quality team in their office just outside of Lancaster.

Your new role
This job as Quality Assurance Engineer is to conduct internal audits to monitor compliance with company, customer and regulatory requirements, along with support audits from external regulatory bodies. You will coordinate focused improvement activities to reduce COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) and improved FPY (first pass yield) and provide guidance on business improvement techniques to Operations personnel. This job will involve preparation of KPI's on Quality on a monthly basis and you will coordinate calibration of all measurement devices.

This role will also involve you to assist in reviewing and updating procedures to support the quality management system and to lead mini projects focused on improving business systems, data integrity and efficiency. You will interface with supply chain to drive improvements, follow-up on corrective actions, issue and maintain follow Inspection and Test Plan. You will ensure incidences are logged, investigated and closed in a timely manner and you will input of Syteline GL journals across the department (to ensure segregation of duties are maintained). Finally, due to the external reporting requirements, this role may require working during the Christmas/New Year factory shutdown.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this job you must be degree qualified or equivalent experience, along with experience within a Quality Engineering related position. You will be familiar with ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems, internal auditing (recognised qual. desirable), computer literate (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and have an active promotion of good EH&S and Quality practices. You will have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), along with strong analytical skills and you will be a team player.
