I am working with a unique Housing Group who combine the very best of two local, community led landlords based in St. Helens and Warrington.

They are looking for an experienced OD Business Partner to provide a comprehensive business partnering and advisory service including early liaison and planning to support business change and transformation plans, ensuring that teams, leaders and all colleagues receive a professional, people focused and efficient service.

The role is a 2 year fixed term contract to start ASAP. The salary is £32,647 per annum and non-negotiable. The role is based in St. Helens and possibly some time will be spent in Warrington.

The role is to work in partnership with leaders, business partners and the wider OD team to ensure the OD business partnering service is aligned to business needs and will achieve the most effective outcomes.

Operational Services

* To provide an effective business partnering and operational advisory OD service across Torus, tailored to business needs, taking account of transformation priorities and change plans
* To identify interventions to meet the needs of the employee life-cycle from attraction, recruitment, induction, learning and development, life stage and career planning, and retirement
* To promote people planning taking account of workforce demographics, succession planning and workforce optimisation.
* To foster constructive and positive relationships with the recognised trade unions throughout your interactions, both formal and informal.
* To enable leaders to deliver effective people performance management utilising coaching techniques.
* Provide OD support to transformation projects as required

Stakeholder/Relationship Management

* Be a trusted partner to senior leaders and managers within your service area and develop relationships based on trust, integrity and co-operation.
* Develop effective relationships with trade union colleagues to ensure that relationships are open, business focused and productive.
* Supporting OLT and managers on the delivery of people plans, policies and projects that will deliver departmental and corporate aims and objectives.
* To develop and maintain a network of relationships within business partnering areas to keep informed and up to date on business developments and enable immediate engagement when action or support is needed.
* To act as a coach and mentor in the development of staff and team competencies to promote change, innovation, continuous improvement and management of risk.

Compliance and Risk

* To help develop effective written policies and procedures ensuring that they are legally compliant and support the business objectives of the Torus group
* Deliver services within the corporate risk management framework to ensure that risks are effectively managed.

Value for Money

* Apply robust VFM, appraisal and reporting processes.
* Ensure that specific focus is given to achieving efficiencies in OD by streamlining processes and utilisng systems where appropriate

* Ensure that H&S policy and procedures are adhered to and embedded to deliver effective and safe services and operations.

Person Specification

1. Appropriate professional qualification

Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge gained through extensive and relevant experience within the Human Resources and Organisational Development function
Degree level education or equivalent relevant training/experience.
Evidence of and commitment to continual professional, leadership and personal development.

2. Experience and Track Record

Track record in delivering an effective business partnering/advisory service resulting in measurable business benefits.
Evidence of delivering good practice in business partnering models to support business needs
Track record of facilitating delivery of effective learning interventions to meet business objectives,
including leadership development
Track record in supporting managers to deliver effective people performance practices utilising recognised policies and procedures.
Evidence of operating collaboratively with leaders and managers and building effective working relationships at all levels
Evidence of co-ordinating/ the importance of value for money in everyday operations
Demonstrates a commitment to E&D in the workplace and in the delivery of services to customers.

3. Managing Change

Manages change through combining excellent project management skills with an inclusive style to deliver intelligence led improvements.

4. Interpersonal Persuasion and Influencing

Demonstrates high levels of motivation and resilience combined with enthusiasm, commitment and a curious, inquisitive approach to challenge and seek continuous improvement.

Passionate, committed and self-motivated to inspire staff to change.

5. Communication

Ability to engage with staff, peers and leaders to build relationships based on honesty, trust, mutual respect and integrity to inspire confidence and respect.

Competent user of the digital/social media channels and their role in communication and driving business success.

6. Financial & Risk Management

Demonstrable governance and financial compliance management experience to ensure robust and compliant operations.

Sound knowledge of legislation and good practice in relation to employment law.
