This bright and spacious SEN School in Sunny Brighton is looking for a engaging and inspiring TA to join there team in October 2016. This is a long term position, 5 days a week- term time only guaranteed until July 2017.

The school in question is a community part residential school with a truly inspiring family ethos that supports learners between the ages of 7 and 19years. The school welcomes learners with Profound and multiple learning disabilities to severe or moderate learning disabilities. At present the school educates approx. 70 pupils (boys and girls) in mixed aged classrooms. Learning is centred around the individual child and every opportunity is taken to offer a education inclusive of their spiritual educational and pastoral needs. The school is situated on acres upon acres of land and has top of the range facilities including hydrotherapy pools, soft play areas and sensory rooms. The school is highly regarded and respected in the local county/community and for this reason run an extremely successful outreach program.

  • Any experience level will be considered, ideal candidates will be flexible, resilient and have a positive approach to supporting learners with SEN (direct SEN experience is not essential)
  • Relevant experience/Knowledge of UK SEN settings (desirable)
  • Own Transport- Due to locality of the school
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting KS1- KS4 SEN learners on a 1:1, small group and classroom basis
  • Communicating with parents and carers over pupils' progress and participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school training events
