Job Title: Pensions Analyst
Location: London or Guildford; Client Sites
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000
The company is one of the UK's leading independent consulting firms that specialises in Pensions, Systems and Data. The company is independently owned and has enjoyed rapid growth over the last 10 years recently being awarded 'Investec Mid-Market 100 UK Fastest Growing Companies' and the London Stock Exchange 1000 companies to Inspire Britain.
The main purpose of this role is to provide technical expertise and support for delivery of consulting projects for our clients. These consulting projects will focus primarily on the following areas in both the pensions and wider financial services' arena:
- Data
- Systems
- Administration
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing analyses using SQL and other data interrogation techniques
- Producing spreadsheets and similar to interpret data
- Producing reports on findings of data analysis
- Involvement in future developments / enhancements on our existing data analysis and data management platforms
- Producing the programs to implement these enhancements where able
- Follow business assurance procedures to ensure quality standards are achieved
- Follow information security procedures as directed in all areas of operation
- Follow business assurance procedures to ensure quality standards are achieved

- Ensure data is mapped correctly
- Producing spreadsheets and similar to interpret data
- Highlight anomalies with data
- Highlight risks and issues for further investigation
- Involvement in future developments / enhancements on our existing data analysis and data management platforms
- Producing the programs to implement these enhancements where able
Knowledge and Experience:
- Understanding of database structures
- Use of business applications
- Knowledge of pensions would be an advantage
- Willingness to learn
- Experience of system design issues
- Awareness of business analysis concepts
- Role holder likely to have come from a pensions' technical admin background
- Likely to have attained a 2:1 degree in a relevant discipline
- Excellent communication skills - a high standard of written and verbal English
- Comfortable working to deadlines
- Familiar with data processing
- Able to manage client pressures
- Aptitude to engage effectively with clients
Technical Skills:
- Excellent MS Office skills - especially excel
- Pensions' knowledge - legislation; terminology; calculations
- Data analysis techniques and processes
- Familiar with project management methodologies
- SQL intermediate
- Programming ability in VBA or VB.net would be a support in this role
